Our thoughts and prayers go out to a Tuscaloosa County, Alabama family who is mourning the loss of their 11-year-old son. The police have not released the name of the boy, and we do not know exactly who the family is but we know they are hurting and need our prayers.
According to Alabama.com, some family and friends were hunting on a lease in Dallas county Sunday evening. The hunting party split up and the boy got into a ground-level shooting house alone about 2 p.m. At dark, his sister went to check on him and found him dead.
Investigators believe the boy died from a single gunshot wound to the head. “His rifle was in there with him,’’ Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey said. “He was not a novice. He had hunted before.”
The death remains under investigation by the Dallas County Sheriff’ Office and the Alabama Department of Fish and Wildlife. His body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy. “Everything points to it being accidental,” said Dailey.
I have no idea what this family is going through. I can not imagine what it is like to lose a son. Please keep them in your prayers.
