In Michigan, seven baby squirrels were found with their tails in a knot, and local police jumped in to help.
Grand Blanc Township is located 11 miles from Flint, Michigan and local police had this to say about the squirrels. “It appears they became entangled while in their nest and finally grew to a point the nest couldn’t hold them.”
This happens at least a few times every year. According to Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control, reports from across the country have the same thing happening after spending months together in a nest.
“The material used to build the nest often gets entangled with the tails and merges them,” according to Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control. “Over time, the situation becomes more complicated as additional material joins the fusion and the fur becomes matted, essentially trapping the squirrels together.”
