America’s 2nd Largest Bank Gives FBI Private Gun Purchase Information.

Many of us believe the government has no business knowing what guns we own. What happens when the bank you trust with your money starts handing over information to the FBI about what gun stores you have purchased from?

Bank of America has turned over some gun purchase information to the FBI to probe for “extremism” and domestic terrorism. America’s 2nd largest bank, Bank of America, has 60 million customers or nearly 1 in 5 Americans.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News¬†uncovered¬†evidence that Bank of America is turning over its customers’ private transaction records to federal investigators. In his report, Tucker discovered four different criteria used to handing over the information.

  1. Customers confirmed as transacting, either through bank account debit card or credit card purchases in Washington, D.C. between 1/5 and 1/6.
  2. Purchases made for Hotel/Airbnb RSVPs in DC, VA, and MD after 1/6.
  3. Any purchase of weapons or at a weapons-related merchant between 1/7 and their upcoming suspected stay in D.C. area around Inauguration Day.
  4. Airline related purchases since 1/6.

Carlson reported that 211 people were identified, and their information was turned over to the FBI. None of those people were notified. One of the 211 was investigated and cleared of any wrongdoing

The justification for this seems to be that they are trying to stop criminals who could cause harm to politicians in Washington. This could be a slippery slope to banks handing over our personal information to the government.

Let us remember that a current bill being pushed through Congress (HR127) would make it a 10-year jail sentence and over $100,000 fine for not registering your guns. If this law were to pass would Bank of America hand over information of all gun purchases to the FBI? Are gun owners willing to take that chance?

Many gun owners make it a point to have guns that are ‘unregistered.’ If your bank is handing over information to the government about your gun and ammo purchases, anything you have purchased with a credit or debit card could be traced back to you.
