Every year around this time, a passionate debate arises in hunting circles all around the country, “What is the best broadhead?” Everyone seems to have their favorite, and some people have very strong opinions about the topic.
I have seen some pretty nasty fights in the Facebook comment section when this topic is discussed, but it does not have to be that way. Honestly, the only way to know for sure is to put them to the test.
The guys over at Seek One did just that. They fired a handful of the most popular broadheads, both fixed and mechanical into ballistic gel along with a few other tests. Overall they do an excellent job of showing you how each broadhead performs, and it will help you make an informed decision when you decide which one to use.
The video is a little long but if you are a gear junkie it is well put together and worth the watch.
That is a lot to take in, and I hope it gives you a little more perspective on what broadheads are available and how they perform. But the biggest thing to remember is even the best broadhead won’t kill if you can not out it where it needs to be, so get out there and practice.
