Buck the Donkey Doesn’t Take Crap from Coyotes

For many years farmers have kept donkeys in pastures with other livestock. There is a definite advantage to this donkeys hate coyotes. To the point that they will stomp them to death if they try to invade.

That is where Buck the donkey  comes in, he is the roughest and the toughest donkey of them all.

South Carolina landowner Steve Hipps has a grass pasture in his backyard. It is Buck’s job to keep the grass eaten down and to guard the pasture.

“I just wanted something in there to keep the grass eaten down, and I’ve always loved donkeys,” Hipps told Georgia Outdoor News.

What Hipps actually ended up getting was a coyote exterminator.

Coyotes seldom come out during the day, but one afternoon, Hipps’ neighbor phoned him up to say that he’d just seen a coyote headed towards his pasture.

When Hipps went outside to check, Buck had the situation well under control.

“By the time I got over there, Buck was stomping the coyote. Then he reached down and picked him up by the neck and started slinging him like a rag doll. I grabbed my phone and got two pictures.”

Not all donkeys are such ruthless coyote killers, though. Some are dumber than a bag of hammers. And, donkeys are pretty slow, so if a whole pack of coyotes decides to invade, a dumb donkey will be the first to go.

Not Buck though… This guy is the real deal.
