The Utah Division of wildlife recently released a video of fish being dropped form a plane. This looks like it would be cruel to the fish, but the Officials say it is less stressful than releasing them from trucks. The fish are dropped from a plain at 150 feet, and wildlife officials say that most of the fish survive. This tactic is used for remote lakes that use to take months to stock. Wildlife officials use to walk these fish in miles in jugs killing many more fish. This method of stocking ponds has been used since 1956. Even though it does not look great, it is important to note that in these situations it is far better for the fish.
