Animals colliding with cars can cause devastating damage to both animals and vehicles.
For instance, back when I was in high school, my brother and I went to build a shed with my dad when an 8pt buck ran in front of his heavily loaded truck. At 45mph, we hit the deer with the Ford F250.
Hearing the deer rolling under the truck while my dad tried to stop still resonates with me to this day. My dad laughed and said, ” Well, go, grab that deer. I guess we got dinner!”. Just then, My brother yelled, “There it Goes!” The deer ran off with a body that was in the shape of an L. He looked to his right while trying to run to his left.
Unfortunately, The only thing we recovered from the deer was his broken off rack that matched our freshly broken grill.
I may want to hunt moose, but I sure am glad we don’t have to worry about hitting them like this guy.
