Gun Manufacturer Moves from New York Creating 366 New Jobs In Alabama

Two years ago, Kimber Manufacturing announced they would move from Yonkers, New York to Troy, Alabama. They have now completed their $38 million facility and plan to “aggressively hire” 366 people from the area.

In a statement obtained by AI.com, Kimber sited multiple reasons for the move, including the states pro-gun, pro-business support from the city of Troy and Alabama.

The company is looking for new employees for several different types of jobs, including machinists, quality control specialists, assembly techs, CNC technicians, lean technicians, customer service reps, design engineers, compliance analysts, maintenance techs, and finishing operators.

The new facility is built on 80 acres and contains 225,000 square feet of space. It is complete with two indoor ranges and an outdoor range.
