Should carrying a concealed gun be a permitless act?
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Maine, Vermont, West Virginia (takes effect June 5, 2016 in WV) and Wyoming are considered constitutional carry states. In Wyoming’s case, permitless carry is for residents only; non-residents must have a permit to carry a concealed handgun in that state.
As of March 17, 2016, members of the Idaho House State Affairs Committee voted 54-15 in favor of SB 1389. A bill that would allow citizens of Idaho to carry concealed weapons without a permit within city limits. Supporters of the bill said it would sync city and county rules concerning the concealed carry of guns. The bill is now headed to the desk of Gov. C.L. Otter for his signature.
Lets hope Gov. Otter follows suit and signs the bill. The American people have the right to keep and bear arms according to The Constitution. Hopefully in the near future all 50 states will recognize our right to defend ourselves with our firearms. Criminals carry without permits, yet the law abiding citizens are defenseless without the governments approval.
