On Sunday, according to an Iraqi news source. Three Islamic State fighters were killed by a rampaging group of feral boars.
The fatal swine attack took place on farmland in the al-Rashad region, an area controlled by the so-called Islamic State around 30 miles south of the city of Kirkuk. Feral boars are known to be a nuisance to farmers.
According to the sources, the Iraqi militants did end up taking revenge on the killer pigs, but did not clarify how.
The Islamic State remains in control of areas southwest of Kirkuk, a major oil-producing area of Iraq. ISIS fighters rule with an iron fist, which has caused thousands to flee the region.
