Turkey season is starting to kick off all across the country. Hunter Waltman of Kiln, Mississippi had a great start and bagged himself an all-white, leucatic turkey. This really ticked off liberal commentator and TV personality, Kieth Olbermann; who called on his followers to make hunter’s life a living hell.
He identified Waltman by name, and called him a “pea-brained scumbag.” And called the writer of the article a “nitwit clown” who should be fired.
According to USA Today, Waltman said he has been receiving verbal attacks because of Olbermann’s actions. While no one directly threatened to harm him, some said they hoped harm came his way.
Waltman said that prior to Olbermann’s attack he had never heard of the ESPN commentator and former MSNBC political host. Waltman said that he now considers Olbermann threatening.
“To tell you the truth, it seemed like a threat to me,” Waltman said. “Make (my) life ‘a living hell?’ That seems like a threat to me. I’d be glad to see him fired. He went overboard.”
Olbermann is not the first celebrity to try and bully hunters. Non-funny comedian Ricky Gervais makes a living with it. Everyone should condemn this type of bullying tactic, it does not matter if you agree with hunting or not. This type of behaviour has no place in a civilized society
