In the wake of the Parkland shooting, Chipper Jones, the co-owner of the hunting show Major League Bowhunter, spoke out against “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines. In that statement he would like to see AR-15’s and AK-47 style rifles banned for civilian use.
This stance caused a lot of blow back from the hunting community with calls to boycott his show and it’s sponsors. The show responded to criticisms by releasing the following statement.
To summarize the statement it basically says that they are doubling down on Chipper’s comments and standing by him. How this stance will play out remains to be seen, but judging by the reaction I have seen from hunters, it does not look promising for them.
