Have you ever seen a piece of art that was so unique it captured everyone’s attention?
I am not an artsy-fartsy person, but I have come across some art I had to learn more about. I started conversing with Samuel Cote from St-Philemon Canada about his carvings from moose antlers.
He told me that he is completely self-taught! Look closely and notice the detail in every hair that he carves. He typically spends a week to a month on each of his pieces. These pieces will cost between $1,500-$5,000. He also carries hand carved earrings and other small pieces that are less expensive.
I have always wanted to hunt a moose, but a moose head is not practical to mount. I asked Samuel if he could do a custom piece and he replied that it would be no problem. Imagine for a minute taking a big bull moose and then having the antlers carved into an exquisite piece of art. That is sure to be something that will be passed down for generations.
Outdoorsmen love to admire the captivating scenery of the outdoors, however, many like myself are not into traditional art paintings. These carvings bridge the gap between the art world and my love of the outdoors.
