The archery target manufacture, Morrell had its factory in Alma, Arkansas caught fire early Friday.
According to KFSM CBS 5, firefighters started battling the blaze at Morrell Targets around 6 am, and have fought the blaze well into the afternoon. No one was in the building when the fire broke out since employees do not start work until 8 am.
According to Butch Thomas, an employee at Morrell Targets, the fire started on the northside of one of the buildings and it spread from there. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and keeping it from spreading to the rest of the complex, so the company is not looking at a total loss.
“There’s a hallway that connects all these buildings. If that fire has gotten through the hallway we could’ve lost it all, but man, these firefighters, we asked them to do everything we could to save it, and they did” said Thomas.
Currently, the company is salvaging what it can and vows to recover from this setback and come back stronger than ever.
The cause of the fire is not known and is being investigated.
