The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA)are usually known for the completely ridiculous and stupid publicity stunts, but what is not well known is that the spend some of their large stash of cash actively supporting terrorists and terrorist organizations.
Terrorism is defined as “the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” A definition that fits the tactics used by the Organizations the PETA supports.
According to Capitol Research, PETA has used its funds to defend the arsonist Rodney Coronado, a member of the terrorist group Animal Liberation Front (ALF).
Coronado was jailed for 57 months in federal prison, for the 1992 arson of a Michigan State University research laboratory. In a November 30, 2002 speech, Coronado openly confessed to at least six other arsons, all of them part of a crime spree known as “Operation Bite Back.” During that time he received around $70,000 from PETA.
The FBI considers ALF among the most active and prolific terrorist groups in America, but PETA compares the group to the Underground Railroad and the French Resistance. PETA is known to hire convicted ALF militants and funds their legal defense.
PETA co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has even defended the eco-terrorist group, saying “I will be the last person to condemn ALF.”
In 2001, the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recorded Bruce Friedrich, PETA’s then-director of vegan campaigns, calling for violence in the name of animal rights:
If we really believe that animals have the same right to be free from pain and suffering at our hands, then of course we’re going to be blowing things up and smashing windows . . . . I think it’s a great way to bring about animal liberation, considering the level of suffering, the atrocities. I think it would be great if all of the fast-food outlets, slaughterhouses, these laboratories, and the banks that fund them, exploded tomorrow.
While PETA itself does not participate in terrorist activities, they have shown that they support it based on their statements and monetary contributions. These few things I have mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. The more you dig the dirtier they get. They are a despicable organization that has no place in modern society.
