At the end of December the West Virginia Department of Natural resources posted a call for help. The sought to identify the person or people that were responsible for the three discard bear cub carcasses that were discovered.

The Natural Resources Police in Barbour County are seeking information related to an illegal bear kill. In the Talbott Road area, three bear cub carcasses were discarded. Information can be submitted anonymously via private message on Facebook or by contacting the Farmington office at 304 – 825 – 6787.

The post went viral and after well over 3,000 Facebook shares the individual was found and arrested.

The individual who was responsible for killing the three bear cubs has been identified and charged thanks to a tip from the public. A search warrant was executed at a residence in Barbour County after receiving the tip. The suspect has been charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and numerous wildlife charges, including, but not limited to: illegal taking of bear weighing under 75 pounds, and illegal possession of wildlife. More charges related to this case are pending. We would like to thank the public for their assistance in this case.

The poachers did not even take the meat. That alone is inexcusable. Hopefully, this judge throws the book at this individual. Poaching is stealing from the American public that can not be tolerated.
