Police K-9 Missing After Chasing Deer

Sometimes it does not matter how much training a dog has it will revert back to it instincts and chase deer. That is exactly what happened to a Hocking County, Ohio police K-9.

According to Fox 8 News, on 28 April 2019, Ilka was playing with Deputy Rick Torchick on Jackson Road in Pickaway County. Ilka took off after a deer and has not been located. She was wearing a chain choker collar.

The Hocking County Sheriff Department posted the following on it’s Facebook page.


This evening between 5:30-6 PM, Hocking County Sheriff’s K-9 Ilka was playing with her handler Deputy Rick Torchick at their residence located in the 29000 block of Jackson Rd, in Pickaway County. This area is located just outside of Laurelville, Ohio.

Ilka took off after a deer and she has not been located.

Ilka was wearing a chain choker collar.
