A road construction worker and a police officer were helping a driver on the side of the road Thursday evening. The Columbus police officer was approached by an aggressive coyote when things got crazy.
The coyote first attacked the road worker. When the officer tried to intervein the coyote bit him. The animal ran away after the officer punched it.
The road worker tried to mase the coyote but failed. That is when the officer pulled out his taser, but the failed to stop the animal.
police say they tried to tase the animal but it became more aggressive. They then had to shoot the coyote.
The officer was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery.
