I am not one for believing in bigfoot or the Locke Ness Monster but this photo is kind of creepy. the photo was taken in the town of Santa Fe, Argentina, and has gone viral. It matches no animal known to exist in the area and it remains a mystery.
One user commented: “I saw one of these things in 2005,it was crossing a bridge and we came upon it. It blew my mind because it looked at us and turned and began moving just like a kangaroo would and cleared the concrete bridge wall easily and dropped at least 15 to 20 feet.”
Another said: “Here in the Philippines it is called ASWANG – a man transforms into a monster dog. It is a demon it can even shift into a cat or a big bird.”
According to Wikipedia, An Aswang (or Asuwang), based on the Sanskrit language Hindu concept of Asura, is a shapeshifting monster in Filipino folklore usually possessing a combination of the traits of either a vampire, a ghoul, a warlock/witch, or different species of werebeast, or even all of them together. It is the subject of a wide variety of myths and stories. Spanish colonists noted that the Aswang was the most feared among the mythical creatures of the Philippines, even in the 16th century.
Of all the sites I have seen writing on this not one has come up with any animal that seems to explain the creature. It certainly is strange and I admit would probably be freaked out if it showed up in my neighborhood. It may turn out to be a hoax but who knows the world is a strange place.
