Suspect Arrested After taking Shot at Swimming Deer Near a Boat [VIDEO]

In Coosa County, Alabama a 45-year-old Calera resident Robert Earl Collum, was arrested on multiple charges on Feb. 12. after a cellphone video captured him shooting at a deer swimming near a boat. This was an extremely dangerous and unethical shot as you will see in the video below.

Collum cooperated with the investigation and agreed to meet investigators at the county jail where he was booked and later released on a $5,000 bond. Collum is facing charges including three counts of reckless endangerment for allegedly shooting in the vicinity of a total of three fishermen, one count of using prohibited methods and devices for hunting, and one count of interference with persons legally hunting or fishing.

After the shot, Collum asked the guys in the boat if the deer had gone back into the water. It seems as if he did not even realize how dangerous his shot was.

It is easy to get excited while hunting, but no animal is worth someones life. It is rare for someone to get killed by a hunters bullet, but once is too much.
