I have been shark fishing a few times, but I have always used a rod and reel. This unidentified swimmer on a Delaware beach did not even need that, he catches a pretty good size shark by the tail and puts it on display for all the other beachgoers to see.
According to the New York Post, a man was swimming at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware when he got a hold of the massive fish.
The whole incident from catch to release lasts less than a minute and even though the video is cut off it is safe to assume the shark is fine.
I checked the Delaware fishing regulations and did not find any regulation against catching sharks by hand but I think that it is safe to assume that it is not the preferred way. It is also not known if the man possessed a fishing license.
