Harsh winters come with consequences for wild animals.
As a 13 year old boy my friend and I had the responsibility of taking down the American flag outside during the last period of the school day. On a cold January day my friend jumped in a pile of snow by an oak tree next to the school. He then felt something hard jam into his back. He reached down and pulled up a huge fox squirrel that was frozen solid as a board. We laughed as he put it inside his coat and brought it inside hidden from all teachers.
Two 13 year old boys running around a school with a frozen squirrel. What could go wrong? Turns out that its looked down upon to sneak up on people and rub it on their face. It only took about 10 minutes till a trip to the principal’s office was in our very near future. Those were the most glorious 10 minutes of my 8th grade year!
