Thugs Kidnap and Rob Duck Hunters – One Arrested, One Still at Large

Imagine after getting up at well before dawn, hauling decoys out, and spending long day out on the water to return to your truck and get ambushed, kidnapped, and robbed by a couple of thugs.

Unfortunately, that is what happened to a group of duck hunters in North Carolina. According to WCTI Channel 12, four hunters were kidnapped and robbed by two assailants that waited by their truck for the hunters to return.

James Farland Jr. and Tyrese Daquon Lee are accused of taking the hunters against their will and robbing them of their cash and firearms

Pender County Sheriff’s Office reported that during the incident, one of the men was shot. Fortunately, the gunshot wound was non-life-threatening.

Farland Jr. has been arrested and is under a $300,000 bond on the following charges:
  • One count first-degree kidnapping
  • Three counts of second-degree kidnapping
  • Assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury
  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Lee and has issued warrants on the following charges:
  • First-degree kidnapping
  • Three counts of second-degree kidnapping
  • Assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury
  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon.

More charges are expected to be filed against the men after the investigation is complete.
